This article explains how to create a connection with DRACOON for Windows/Mac to your DRACOON. Afterward, your DRACOON environment will appear as a new drive in File Explorer (on Windows) or as a new volume in the Finder (on Mac), which will allow you to work with files from DRACOON like on a regular drive/volume.
- Click the DRACOON icon in the notification area of the taskbar (Windows) or in the menu bar (macOS), and then click Open Connection.
- The dialog box for creating a new connection appears:
- In the Server text box, enter the address of your DRACOON environment (in the example above: dracoon.team).
Please do not change the default "443" in the Port field, or no connection will be established.
Under Windows, you can select a specific drive letter for the connection if necessary. If you don't need this, leave the default setting "Auto" in the Drive Letter field unchanged—Windows will then automatically select an unused drive letter for the connection.
- Click Connect to save the connection as a new connection bookmark in DRACOON and establish the connection to DRACOON.
Note only for DRACOON for Windows: If you click OK instead of Connect, the connection is saved as a new connection bookmark for later use, rather than connecting immediately. You can then connect later by pointing to the connection entry and clicking Connect in the submenu:
- DRACOON for Windows/Mac displays a note that the web browser will be opened for entering your DRACOON credentials. Click Continue.
- The login form of your DRACOON environment appears in your web browser. Enter your user name and password, and then click Login.
Your environment may display your organization's logo instead of the DRACOON logo.
- Your web browser displays a security prompt to ask whether the access code of your DRACOON environment should be transferred from your web browser to DRACOON for Windows/Mac.
Under Google Chrome the security prompt looks like this (it may look different if you use another browser): Confirm the security prompt (in the example above under Google Chrome by clicking Open DRACOON).
- Done! Your DRACOON environment has been added as a drive (on Windows) or volume (on Mac). A File Explorer window (under Windows) or Finder window (on Mac) will open and display the contents of your DRACOON.
The connection is permanently available and will be restored automatically after a restart of your PC/Mac (unless the option Enable Login Item has been disabled in the DRACOON settings for Windows/Mac).
